You already have a site

Your site is doing its job. The listing isn’t.

Nobody needs to sell you a website — you have one and it works. The trouble is that most people never reach it. They search your name, and Google answers with a listing that has its own phone number, its own hours and its own website button. None of it has to match what you think it says.

So before anything else: send me your business name and I’ll tell you what a customer actually sees. Ten minutes, no charge, and if it all looks right I’ll say so and that’s the end of it.

It rings on my phone, not at an answering service.

Check it yourself first

Three things, and you can check them from where you’re sitting

Search your own business the way a stranger would — not by typing your web address, but by searching your name. Then look at what Google puts in front of you.

The three things

Is your phone number right?

Are your hours right?

Does your website button actually go anywhere?

If all three are right, your listing is in good shape, and I’d rather say that than sell you a fix you don’t need. If one of them isn’t, it has been wrong for as long as nobody was looking. Either way there’s a second half — your reviews, and whether anybody’s answering them.

  • The website button goes somewhere you don’t own. Sometimes a page that no longer exists. Sometimes a directory a stranger built using your name and your menu, with a “claim this business” button sitting on it.
  • Your hours were written by somebody else. Google lets the public suggest them. When nobody sets them, it takes what it is given, and it will tell people you are open at times you are not.
  • Reviews sitting there with no reply. Including the unhappy ones. Google pulls a line out of those and prints it at the top of your listing as a summary, where it is the first thing anyone reads.

More than one location? Each additional one is $75 a month, whatever plan you are on. Two locations on Presence is $225; two on Growth is $275. Same work on each, said per location so there is nothing to work out later.

The sit-down is $99. I look at your listing the way a customer does and tell you exactly what I find — including if what I find is that you are fine and do not need me. That ninety-nine covers my time, and it is the only money that changes hands before you decide anything. You keep what I find either way.

Month to month, thirty days’ notice, no contract. If it isn’t earning its keep you send me one line and we stop. Whatever you sign at stays your price for as long as you stay.

What “every review answered” covers, said plainly. Every review that arrives from the day you sign gets an answer, on every plan. That is what the monthly is for, and it is a number I can predict.

The ones already sitting there depend on your plan. The grid above has it: nothing on Presence, the last ninety days on Presence Plus, six months on Growth, a full year on VIP. That is included, not extra.

If you want to go back further than your plan covers, that is $250 one time, up to 50 responses — everything from the last twelve months, plus every review under four stars however old it is. Those are the ones people actually read. Answering a seven-year-old five-star review is worth nothing and I won’t charge you for it.

The monthly isn’t hosting, and it isn’t touching your website. Your site stays exactly as it is, with whoever looks after it now. This is the Google side, done every month, by a person who actually checks.

Whatever you sign at stays your price for as long as you stay. I have never raised anyone’s rate.

Ready when you are

Start with the ten minutes

You don’t have to decide anything to find out what your listing says. Text me the name of your business and I’ll go and look.

Text me the name of your business and I’ll tell you what I find.

Wrong road? If it turns out the site is the problem rather than the listing, that’s a different conversation and a different page.
